Cherishing Lyla

My daughter, Lyla, was diagnosed with Full Trisomy 18, a chromosomal abnormality also called Edward’s Syndrome, when she was three days old.  My husband and I were given very little hope that Lyla would live past a few weeks old.  But our God is a God of hope, and by His grace, Lyla is now 10 years old. She is healthy and thriving. We have chosen these to be her life verses…

Psalm 139:13-16

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
